When you are throwing a baby shower, you may want to ask the mother what theme she has planned for her baby and work around that. This way many small gifts can be kept for the baby.

Since boys are associated with more of rough & tough things, the decoration should essentially include bigger toys, wooden blocks and the like, meaning toys that every boy would love to have. If you are planning on flowers to go with your decorations, then Blue Tulips, Blue Morning Glories or Blue Bells might be good options.
Baby Girl – Just like blue is the color for boys, pink is the preferred color for girls & a baby girl shower theme would mean more of pink balloons & streamers. While you may choose different shades of pink to go with your girl shower theme, a slight hint of colors like white, yellow or lavender are not bad options. In fact, it should have more of subdued, peaceful & refreshing tones. Twinkle Star: When talking of nurseries & baby showers, twinkling stars is one of the most popular themes. As the name suggests, the decorations will no doubt include stars but these can alternatively be combined with other interesting things like candles, balloons & streamers with stars & star-shaped baby photos.
